book

55 fun things to do in Kerala

I thought of redesigning the book called A road guide to kerala (ttk discover india series)
or few days back i went to goa and wrote a travelogue i can give it a book shape
or i got a book on mythology actually a magazine called manorama tell me why mythology(100+ fascinating facts about world mythology)
A road guide to kerala (ttk discover india series)
This book has a lot of information; the copy is quite good and shows a good research and understanding of the place, but I don’t know due to budget issues or some other issue they have not put enough effort to designing. The book gives a document feel as it is done throughout in one column without illustrations or colors. Just the headlines are done in all caps. The line spacing and the word spacing are perfect neither too tight nor too loose. The fonts used in headlines are Arial and the body text is Arial rounded MT bold. The size of the book is 8.5*6.5 inches. Font size for headline is 0.4cms and body text is some points less than 0.3cms. Target audience for this book is tourist in general but I think the book targeted the tourists who have some idea of landscape and surroundings so that they can visualize it or the tourist who don’t plan on paying much on a guide book, I was planning on taking the tourists who can’t visualize Kerala and want complete idea for the place and can spend for it. Mainly the foreigners who come to India or our generation people who plan to holiday in India.
The text is appropriate I just need to lay it out in such a fashion that it creates more excitement and I plan to use red black green and yellow as my main colors as these are the colors that a Kathakali dancers use on their mask to show different  characters. I plan to let the grid be uneven so that it can be manipulated according to visual. Using Arial is a good idea but I would like to experiment font in the headline to give an exotic feel but will prefer keeping the copy simple as there is a lot to read.
What: a road guide to kerala
Who: for tourists (twenties, newly married, adventurous people)
When (when can you use the book): When you are planning a trip to kerala
Where (where will you find the book): anywhere
How (how will this book help you): better visualization of the place and an inside idea of the place without going to the place.
For the advertisement I wanted to work with car stickers, to target our generation we spend at least two hours daily in traffic staring other cars, an advertisement on a car passing by will be really interesting and make a point in people’s mind.
After finalizing on the book the plzy element was lacking somewhere so we decided to take the inspiration or text from the book but make a book that can be called 50 or 100 fun things to do in Kerala Then after researching I decided to make it on 55 fun things to do in kerala.
